A Poem for Peeps, America's Most Lovable Sugar Blobs

*clears throat and walks onto stage*

Damn, this is a good looking crowd. Not as good looking as me, but hey, you're all trying your best.

This is my first time writing poetry. Gasp! I'm living out my Shakespeare era.

Listen, this is alll for fun. Funsies. Loads of fun. However, I will gladly accept any poetry awards if my work is deemed genius by others. Oh who am I kidding, this is already genius. But validation is nice.

My first poem is dedicated to marshmallow Peeps. Enjoy.

What the hell are you?

My senses have been sent into a tailspin.

You're covered in colorful crystals.

Ooo. Ahh. Pretty. Pretty.

There has to be more. What's on the inside?

WHITE. SQUISH. SUGAR.

It started off with one bite. Now the whole row with your brothers and sisters is gone.

I taste everything and nothing at the same time.

Tell me, how this is possible?

Oh. OH. Oh my gosh. You...you don't have a mouth.

There are simply two small dots that are your eyes.

Allegedly.

I'm gaining no nutritional value by devouring you.

Yet, I want more.

No.

I NEED more.

Yellow, blue, pink, chick, bunny, other.

Seriously, other. I can't tell what every single shape is supposed to be.

Come to me. It's time to form an army.

My beautiful collection of sugar globs.

Unite! Conquer!

Let's find our way into those Easter baskets

and dye some mouths.
