Making cookies and biting into the chewy goodness is wonderful, but is that really the best part? Of course not. Eating cookie dough straight from the bowl is the main event. While eating cookie dough is satisfying, you could potentially get Salmonella if you eat too much raw dough. That sounds like a bummer, but there’s actually a brand that makes gourmet edible cookie dough that’s 100% safe to eat, and that’s The Cookie Dough Cafe.
The Cookie Dough Cafe makes dough in multiple flavors and sizes. Recently, I went grocery shopping on a $20 budget, which got me a loaf of bread and peanut butter (such a healthy diet, I know), and I found myself with some money left over. I happened to be roaming the Walmart aisles when I heard The Cookie Dough Cafe’s jar singing to me.
When I saw they had classic chocolate chip, I knew I had to try it. While the dough cost about $6, I had a YOLO moment and swept it off the shelf into my loving arms. I also grabbed some animal crackers, so I wouldn’t have to eat it straight out of the jar like an animal. Turns out I didn’t need the crackers, because I really did eat this straight from the jar.
While everything tasted just like real cookie dough, I would’ve liked a few more chocolate chips. I guess when you make your own dough at home and put in three times the amount of chocolate chips the recipe says, you forget what a normal amount is.
If you want a safe way to eat cookie dough, try one of The Cookie Dough Cafe’s flavors. Or, you could make your own dough and face the consequences. Honestly, I’ve never met someone who’s gotten sick from eating cookie dough. Maybe just try to limit yourself to a few licks. Either way, you deserve some dough in your life.
