Easter is almost here, and that means one thing: ATTACK OF THE PEEPS. These little buggers always seem to find their way into everyone’s shopping cart around Easter. Peeps may be misshapen colored sugar blobs of fluff, but I still love them.

While I may like Peeps, others do not. In fact, a lot of people I know have a strong hatred for them. There’s even a Facebook group dedicated to hating Peeps. On their page, the group states, “The right way to eat Peeps is by throwing them in the trash.” I cannot believe someone has the audacity to say such an absurd thing. Only a disgraceful human being would say that about these delectable little marshmallow animals, right?
I’m going to ignore the haters for now and focus on the people that enjoy Peeps. I’m curious to find out how you like your Peeps. Believe it or not, there are various ways to enjoy Peeps. That made me curious, so my question is: how do you like your Peeps?

Do you prefer them fresh or stale?
Apparently, some people like their Peeps hard instead of soft. This is interesting to me because the only way I eat Peeps is when they come straight out of the package. If they aren’t fresh, there’s a good chance I will throw them in the garbage, where they do not belong.
Do the colors taste different?
We all know Peeps come in a variety of bright colors, sometimes they can be blinding. They are all supposed to taste the same, but do they really? For instance, if your favorite color is blue do you think blue Peeps taste better than pink Peeps? I don’t know why, but I prefer yellow peeps because I think yellow tastes best. Maybe it’s because yellow was the first Peeps color introduced. Contrasting colors may taste different because of the dyes added to the sugar.
Do you like to eat them out of the freezer?
Alright, this is where I draw the line. I can only condone so much bizarreness when hearing Peep Preferences. My mom told me some people like eating their Peeps out of the freezer, but I don’t see the appeal. Peeps should be treated like royalty. Therefore, it would be best to store them in a container at room temperature. Don’t throw them into the dark abyss of a freezer, they have feelings too, you know?

I am excited to eat Peeps not just for Easter, but every upcoming holiday. We all need a little color and fun in our lives, and Peeps can provide that. These precious babies won’t last forever, so get some now.
