It’s fall y’all, or at least it’s supposed to be. All I know is that it hasn’t felt like fall lately. Last Saturday, it was 76 degrees in Ohio, and the day after that, it dropped to 40 degrees. I went from wearing shorts and a t-shirt to wearing sweats and a winter jacket. Actually, I didn’t wear my winter coat because I don’t have it with me yet. It’s alright though because I’d rather freeze than walk around campus looking like the Stay Puft Marshmallow Man. (Mom, if you’re reading this I’m actually super cold and would like a real coat.)
I know fall isn’t supposed to be warm, but temperatures in the 40s seem too cold for this time of year. Mother Nature, please don’t skip over this lovely season. Heat things up and give me some drama! A few 70 degree days would do the trick.
This cold weather we’re experiencing brings me to the conclusion that winter is coming. Sadly, I’m not talking about Game of Thrones, I’m talking about the real winter we have to deal with. I know it gets chilly in November, but winter doesn’t even start until December 21, so this frigid cold weather needs to take a chill pill. Or should I say warm pill? This is actually a really bad joke considering I don’t want to walk to class half the time when it’s below 50 degrees.
I wish these leaves could stay on the trees forever. This was from Saturday when it was nice and warm.
Winter is coming, and I’m not going to embrace it. Maybe if I had Jon Snow fighting for my honor, I’d be down. However, he’s a fictional character and I need to be realistic.
Let’s preserve fall for as long as we can, and try to hold off on winter. I won’t even get started on the people playing Christmas music already. Call me a grinch, but I don’t enjoy hearing Mariah Carey’s “All I Want For Christmas Is You” every morning at 8 a.m. when I get ready for school.
Anyway, enjoy the leaves, pumpkin spice lattes and hayrides while they last, because winter is coming.
